Lemosho route is commencing in the west and rather than simply intersecting Shira Plateau (like Machame), Lemosho crosses it from Shira Ridge to Shira Camp. Hikers encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterward, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu.

Lemosho route is teamed as fantastic route on Kilimanjaro mountain and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. Since this route gives a good balance of low traffic, scenic views, and a high summit success rate. That is why, Lemosho route becomes great preferred.

Day 1. Arrival

International Airport (JRO) on arrival in Tanzania, you will be met by one of Giraffe Safari representative who will welcome you and who will transfer you from the airport to Arusha town. You will spend the night in this busy tourist town. Where will get short briefing from our representative at hotel and leave you to relax for while and have dinner and overnight stay at Venice Hotel.

Day 2: Londorosi Gate-Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree Camp)

After breakfast in morning , You will get picked up from the hotel with Giraffe porters and guides and drive to Londorosi Gate for registration. We will then drive to Lemosho Glades (2389m) where you will commence unforgettable hike across the rainforest to Mtimkubwa (Big Tree Camp) (2785m) where we will have dinner and stay overnight in nature.

DAY 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp-Shira One. 

After breakfast you will resume with hiking where you will leave from the camp with one guide first before porters to leave the camp. Lunch will be served in an exciting valley just outside the Shira crater at 3004m. After lunch, you will go across the rim into the Shira Caldera which filled from lava from Kibo. We will camp and have dinner at Shira One camp (3504m).

Day 4: Shira One Camp-Shira Hut.

After breakfast in morning you will leave the camp and today you will have a long walk toward Eastern side across Shira Plateau. This will bring you to Shira Two camp via Shira Cathedral peak at 3862m. Shira Two camp is at a height of 3895m where will have overnight stay.

Day 5: Shira Camp-Barranco Camp.

After your breakfast in morning you will proceed with hiking. Where you will hike across through a ridge at 4600m over the Lava Tower which offers invaluable altitude acclimatization.And you will have other 5-6hours hike as we drop down through the Barranco Valley to the camp beside Barranco Wall at 3986m where we will stay overnight.

Day 6: Barranco Camp-Karanga Camp. 

After your breakfast in morning you will proceed with hiking by climbing the biggest rock Wall we call it (Jiwe la Kubusu) in Swahili language which means Kissing stone,

Then you will resume with hiking about 5-6 hours, crossing ridges and valleys to Karanga Upper camp (4034m) where you will have lunch. In the afternoon you will have an optional altitude acclimatizing trek up the scree slopes.

Day 7: Karanga Camp-Barafu Camp 

After breakfast in morning you will leave the camp and proceed hiking to approach Barafu Camp. You will have a 3-4 hour hiking to an altitude of 4600m. At the camp, you can either take an afternoon rest or acclimatization until midnight when your hike to the summit will commence.

Day 8: Barafu Camp-Uhuru Peaks -Mweka Camp 

At around 23:30Pm Guide will wake up you and give you tea with other snacks then at midnight you will commence hiking  up to the crater rim through the scree slopes to Stella Point, then to the top of Africa, Uhuru Peak. Stella Point is located at 5745m around the crater rim. After enjoying the unforgettable views on Kilimanjaro’s summit, we will trek downwards via Stella Point and the scree slopes back to Barafu camp for some hours resting before heading to Mweka Camp.Then you will continue with trekking down to Mweka camp for having overnight stay.

Day 9: Mweka Camp- Mweka Gate – Arusha.

After breakfast you will continue with trekking down to Mweka Gate . The trail from Mweka camp takes us through where heather grows for about an hour. The muddy path continues until we enter a heavy rainforest that takes us to the gate where we have picnic lunch, get certificates and celebrate your memorable journey and you will be driven to your hotel in Arusha city for relax and you will get dinner with overnight stay.

Day 10: Arusha-Airport.
